This class is taught in the classical Japanese & Okinawa traditions and etiquette. Students learn about pressure points, throws and wrist locks to develop self-defense and self confidence. There is physical conditioning in the program along with techniques learned to defend themselves while earning promotional rank in the martial arts. The students will also learn, practice and earn ranking in Aiki-Ki (mind and body coordination) and Combat-Ki (Combat breathing).
Instructors: Shihan Brian C. Smith, 8th degree black belt Goshin-Jutsu, 3rd degree black belt Hakko Ryu Jujitsu, 2nd degree black belt in Judo. Smith has also earned 8 instructor certifications in police defense tactics, he was inducted into Illinois Martial Arts hall of Fame 2007, and appointed Professor of Bujutsu 2008. Sensei Mark Hale, 4th degree black belt Goshin-Jutsu, 1st degree black belt Okinawa “Toide” Combat Art, green belt in Judo. He is also a recognized fighter in the Mixed Martial Arts.
