Saturday, March 15, 2025 marked the celebration of newly installed park equipment by the Chicago Heights Park District. New state-of-the-art equipment designed by Kompan was customized at 15 parks that includes inclusive play, for all ages.

50’s Sock-Hop Party Everyone had a blast!
Guests danced, grooved to classic tunes, indulged in delicious food, and caught up with friends throughout the fun-filled evening. Many embraced the 50’s vibe, with ladies rocking poodle skirts and guys sporting white t-shirts and black leather jackets, bringing the era to life!
Black History Jamboree
Our Black History Jamboree at the Rec Center was a fantastic success! The event featured lively music and dancing, along with local vendors offering a variety of goods, including stunning jewelry, authentic African clothing, skin-care products, and delicious food. Attendees enjoyed tasty treats like jerk chicken, BBQ rib-tips, and homemade baked goods, making for a truly memorable celebration.
Chicago Heights Park District Lands $600,000 Grant for Park Improvements!
The Chicago Heights Park District is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a substantial $600,000 grant through the Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) program. This funding will be allocated towards the construction of the city’s first-ever Aquatic Splash Pad, situated at Commissioners Park, and the renovation of adjacent walkways to ensure safe and easy access to play areas.
