Chicago Heights School District 170 is partnering with the Chicago Heights Park District to host a pair of student summer camps open to incoming CHSD170 sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade students only!
The first camp session will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, June 6 through June 22. A second session of camps will run on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from July 11 through July 27.
The camps will focus on academic, sports, and club-related activities, including various learning and athletic programs, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math projects at the Chicago Heights Middle School, and aquatic activities at the CHPD’s Recreation Center.
“We believe that camps of this type will be a positive factor in the lives of our students,” said CHMS Principal Chris Baikauskas. “Any constructive and educational activities we can provide that supplement and enhance our student’s learning process is something our district and our city wholeheartedly embrace. I also would like to thank the Park District for its commitment to partnering with us to provide such valuable camps for our students!”
CHMS Assistant Principal Nick Pezzuto added to Baikauskas thoughts, saying, “Activities like those offered in the summer camps can only benefit our students in retaining aspects already learned while providing new and exciting activities that will enhance the learning dynamic.”
